Virat Kohli The Future of Indian Cricket

In this star-studded Indian Team its difficult to get your name stand out of the rest for young emerging players. It’s really difficult to get noticed when you have the greatness of Sachin, the devastating batting of Sehwag and the all- round performance of Yuvraj already in the team. Many domestic players who have done good in the domestic circuit fail to get a permanent spot in the team as these greats are always there to represent the country. But there are some players who with the showcase of their talents let the world know about them. Such a stunning talent which India has now is Virat Kohli. This young man has all the potential to be the ultimate winner.

His Achievements
In the second One Day International of the ongoing tour of the Caribbean Virat Kohli reached the mark of 2000 ODI runs and joined the group of players who have achieved this landmark in least number of ODI lagging behind only two other players. Kohli reached the 2000runs mark in his 53rd One Day International only one late in respect to the previous Indian Records where Siddhu and Ganguly reached it in 52nd ODI. This is only the reward of Kohli’s splendid performances in the recent past. He got a place in the Indian One Day Team three years ago and now has become an important part of the Indian Batting lineup.

He plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and is an important factor of this team. After Gayle he was the most successful batsman from this team and also got the opportunity to captain the side in Vittory’s absence. At the young age of 22 he is proud to be a part of the Word Cup winning side. He is also the proud captain of the Under-19 side which went on to win the U-19 World Cup. He is also one of the only players who has scored a century on their WC debut.

Expectations from this Young Man
If anyone is the perfect successor for Mahendra Singh Dhoni then it is Virat Kohli along with Gautam Gambhir. He has shown the real temperament to be the captain of the future Indian Cricket team. In the ongoing series which is the trailer of the future Indian Cricket Team (specially in batting) this player can be called the backbone. It is his cricket which is based on timing and placement rather than powerful hitting that has given such an important responsibility.

This is the man whom we should look at as the perfect successor of MSD and the solid backbone of the Indian Batting Lineup.
